While workers in the East Texas area are plentiful, the skill levels often fall short of the levels required for available positions. It can be a challenge to find just the right fit between available work force and employer needs. Let us assist your business by using our assessment and skills testing tools and expertise. Workforce Solutions East Texas provides the following assessments and skills testing services: WorkKeys The WorkKeys assessments target up to 11 foundational workplace skill areas including Applied Mathematics, Listening, Locating Information, and Teamwork. Workforce Solutions East Texas can tailor the assessments to fit the needs of each employer and/or job posting, providing the employer with only the most qualified and skilled applicants to consider for each job available. Why hire an individual to only find out later that they do not have the skills needed to perform successfully on the job. WorkKeys provides information upfront to the employer, as to if an applicant has the skills needed to be a productive, successful employee. Workforce Solutions East Texas utilizes WorkKeys in an effort to match better-qualified applicants to the jobs employers are seeking to fill. This system, developed by ACT, Inc., provides businesses with a valid screening and selection tool in which to identify appropriate skills possessed by each applicant. Because WorkKeys is based on an objective comparison of the skills a person possesses with those required for successful job performance, it complies with EEOC standards. The benefits to each employer include more qualified applicant pools, reduced training time, and retention of new hires. Workforce Solutions
East Texas staff continually work to increase skills and enhance the employability of applicants through various partnerships with other
entities, which in turn will increase the numbers of qualified applicants available to area employers.
This is a series of tests designed to indicate the approximate grade levels of a potential employee in the areas of reading, math, and language. The results may be used to see if the person is functioning at the level you feel is required for your job offering. The tests are generally related to basic job skills such as applied math and reading charts, diagrams, and text. In addition, it measures how well a person recognizes and can compose correctly written English. The reading and math portions of this test are available in Spanish. Assessment of Keyboarding and Data Entry Skills This assessment uses the R.D. Craig Assessment package. It measures skills in typing on a keyboard and data entry of numbers and text into tables and forms. The assessment information includes accuracy and speed and can be customized to your specific requirements. It takes about 30 minutes to complete and is available to you immediately. Employers can use this assessment to ascertain the abilities of a person for placement into a specific job. Job seekers can use it to see if they require some brushing up on skills, or as part of a job seeking strategy that involves proving your abilities to an employer. |
